First Surgery Recovery Day 9: A long walk

My time spent indoors at home isn't as bad as some people may think. I'm not bored or depressed. I've been cleaning the entire apartment, throwing out old junk, restocking things we'll need in the future, playing a new video game and doing a whole lot more. Today I went out for a walk in Brooklyn that lasted almost two hours.

My meals today consisted of a Boost, three eggs scrambled and blended with water, Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup blended with lots of broccoli and cheddar and two shakes. I took an Ibuprofen halfway through the day in the case that any pain popped up.

Every now and then I feel pins and needles on my chin, meaning that the numbness is going away... I think. That's good. My face swelling continues to come down noticeably. My lips are still too big, but I'm now able to close them without using my hands. It's all getting back to normal slowly, including the drooling. I only used one towel today, so hooray!

The rubber bands that my surgeon added yesterday aren't too bothersome, though their function of pulling my lower jaw to the center causes some annoying pressure. I took a Vicodin last night and I'll take another for tonight. It definitely helps me sleep better during recovery, at least for a few hours.
